With great satisfaction we can say that we have assumed the challenge of obtaining the necessary resources for the optimal functioning of the hospital, which has become a leading institution in the region, to provide free treatment to children facing this disease and that our commitment is to work incessantly, to ensure that the day comes when 100% of the patients diagnosed in the country are treated.
As we advance our challenges also increase; The demand for our services is our main challenge, since for every child we currently serve, there is another - somewhere in the country - without access to our services. We currently serve 44% of Guatemalan children affected by cancer and receive about 50 new patients diagnosed monthly.
We need to increase the coverage of care, the survival rates of our patients have had extraordinary achievements. We want to bring this same life expectancy to all children who face this disease, because we know that pediatric cancer is highly curable if it is detected and treated in time.
