  Owing largely to financial resources from the Foundation, through the support of private enterprises, responsive institutions, a sponsorship program and support from volunteers, the National Unit of  Pediatric Oncology has accomplished the following: The diagnosis of 1.736 children 605 children have completed their treatment 378 children are currently under treatment Cancer in 498 children has been ruled out The survival rate from Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia has increased from a 28% rate two years after diagnosis in the year 2000 up to a 70% rate five years after diagnosis today The rate of abandonment during treatment has dropped from 42% in 2000 to 12.8% today Established family and patient support programs:
